⛵︎PTO 2025–2026 Year in Review : A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats 🌊
As we wrap up another incredible year, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on everything our Harbor View Elementary PTO community accomplished together.
This year was about more than events and fundraisers—it was about creating experiences, celebrating people, building traditions, strengthening our school community, and finding intentional ways to support students, teachers, staff, and families.
✨ Supporting Our Students
• Funded field trips across grade levels
• Awarded $18,000+ in Teacher Mini-Grants
• Supported Family Math Night and additional enrichment opportunities
• Funded new musical sound equipment and student experiences
• Supported athletic needs including new basketball uniforms and volleyball equipment
• Sponsored many fun inflatable and bounce house experiences throughout the year for student celebrations and special events
• Helped make Field Day another unforgettable memory for our students
🎭 Celebrating Student Creativity & Experiences
• Supported licensing and production efforts for The Little Mermaid musical—one of Harbor View’s best productions yet
• Created opportunities for students to shine through the arts, performance, and creative experiences
💙 Celebrating Our Teachers & Staff
• Hosted our “Around the World” Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week
• Organized duty-free lunches throughout the year and stocked workrooms to support our amazing staff
• Introduced Duty-Free Birthday Lunch Coupons for teachers to enjoy during their birthday celebrations
• Provided holiday gifts and appreciation gifts to show gratitude for the incredible people who support our students every day
• Celebrated special appreciation moments including:
• Principal Appreciation Day
• Assistant Principal Appreciation Day
• Front Office Staff Appreciation
• Teacher & Staff celebrations throughout the year
• Recognized non-homeroom teachers and support staff who help make Harbor View successful every day
• Sponsored attendance for our Principal and Assistant Principal at the Teacher of the Year Gala to celebrate and support Ms. Slater and represent Harbor View with pride
🏫 Investing in Our Campus & School Experience
• Continued making meaningful improvements to spaces used daily by students, staff, and families
• Added rocking chairs and a reading rug to create a welcoming quiet reading space for upper grade students and encourage moments of calm, connection, and a love of reading
• Added a new ice maker to support staff and school events throughout the year
• Purchased misting fans for carline to help improve comfort during warmer months—and we know they’ll be appreciated again when the August heat returns
📣 Growing Communication, Sponsorship & Community
• Made an intentional investment in growing and strengthening our social media presence to better connect families and celebrate our school community
• Increased communication and visibility across PTO platforms
• Purchased new sandwich boards to provide an additional way to keep families informed and connected with school happenings, events, celebrations, and opportunities
• Expanded volunteer and family engagement throughout the year
• Experienced continued growth in business sponsorships and community partnerships, helping increase support and opportunities for Harbor View students and staff
🙌 Supporting School Events & Volunteerism
• Ensured Harbor View had the volunteers needed to support the many events our students are privileged to experience throughout the year
• Coordinated volunteers for events including Book Fair, Field Day, Teacher Appreciation activities, school celebrations, and campus events
• Helped strengthen connections between families, teachers, and the school community through service and involvement
⛵︎ Building School Spirit
• Refreshed our Harbor View car magnet collection with fresh, coastal-inspired designs
• Created fun seasonal fence cup art displays to celebrate students and school spirit
• Expanded sponsorship recognition and school pride initiatives
⚽ Creating Community Connections
• Organized and promoted our Charleston Battery community event to bring Harbor View families together outside the school day
• Hosted Spirit Nights monthly and community-building opportunities throughout the year
🏆 Celebrating Excellence
• Supported and celebrated Harbor View Elementary being named Palmetto’s Finest Winner 2026
• Continued building traditions and creating a school culture our students are proud to be part of!
